Der mettermalt® Sodom „The Arsonist“ Whisky ist eine limitierte Abfüllung der fesslermill1396 Destillerie zusammen mit der Thrash-Metal Band SODOM.
Seit 1982 sind die Pioniere der Thrash-Metal Szene aktiv, um die Band gebührend zu Ehren kommen bei dem offiziellen Whisky der Band SODOM viele besondere Details zum Einsatz.
Der mettermalt Whisky besteht aus regionalem Getreide, welcher in der hauseigenen über 627 Jahre alten Fessler Mühle nach alter Handwerkskunst auf dem Schrotgang aus dem Jahre 1870 mit Mahlsteinen vermahlen wurde. Nach der Destillation reifte der Whisky für 7 Jahre in einem Bourbonfass im Warehouse der Destillerie. Für den Whisky wird heimisches Wasser aus der örtlichen alwa-Quelle verwendet, der Herstellungsprozess findet durch eigene Wasserkraft und Photovoltaik klimaneutral statt. Der Whisky ist unfiltriert. Das Cover hat eine erhabene Goldprägung bekommen und wurde von Sodom-Fan & Künstlerin Manuela Gigliotti (Tenebrae) handgemalt. Für den Verschlusskorken wurde extra ein Brandeisen angefertigt um jede Flasche einzeln händisch mit einem „S“ zu brandmarken.
Als weiteres Highlight kommt jede Flasche mit einer von Tom Angelripper handsignierten Karte.
Die fesslermill1396 Destillerie wurde bereits mehrfach ausgezeichnet und im Jahr 2023 bei der Landesprämierung zum besten Whiskybrenner des Jahres 2023 gekürt.

The mettermalt® Sodom „The Arsonist“ whisky is a limited bottling from the fesslermill1396 distillery in collaboration with the thrash metal band SODOM.
These pioneers of the thrash metal scene have been active since 1982, and to honor the band, many special details have been incorporated into the official whisky of the band SODOM.
The mettermalt whisky is made from regional grain, which was milled with millstones in the in-house, over 627-year-old Fessler mill, using traditional craftsmanship on the grist mill dating back to 1870. After distillation, the whisky matured for seven years in a bourbon cask in the distillery’s warehouse. Local water from the local alwa spring is used for the whisky, and the production process is climate-neutral thanks to the distillery’s own hydropower and photovoltaics. The whisky is unfiltered. The cover features raised gold embossing and was hand-painted by Sodom fan and artist Manuela Gigliotti (Tenebrae). A branding iron was specially crafted for the cork, allowing each bottle to be individually branded with an „S.“
The fesslermill1396 distillery has already received numerous awards and was named Best Whisky Distiller of the Year 2023 at the state awards ceremony in 2023.
